18F-FEC

[18F]FEC ([18F]-Fluoroethylcholine, Fluorocholine (18F) chloride injection)

[18F]-labelled choline analogues, such as 2-[18F]-fluoroethylcholine have been suggested to be useful for the imaging of prostate and brain tumours.

Indeed, tumour cells with enhanced proliferation rate usually exhibit an improved choline uptake due to the increased membrane phospholipids biosynthesis.  (Asti.M. Nuclear Medicine and Biology, Volume 37, Issue 3, April 2010, Pages 309–315)
